EAT YOUR WAY TO A HEALTHY BEARD (Part 2)

EAT YOUR WAY TO A HEALTHY BEARD (Part 2)

In the last post, we gave part 1 of some foods to add to your meal plan to stimulate and enhance beard growth.  This week, we add to that list with part 2 of eating your way to a healthy beard:

Omega 3 Fatty Acids:

These are found in foods such as fish; especially fatty fish such as salmon. This is good fat that is great for your body and your beard. This is not the burgers and fried chicken fat that we would hope would have such a great effect but doesn’t.

Walnuts and flaxseeds also provide this in abundance so consider adding walnuts to your salad and chicken recipes and flaxseeds to your smoothies to give them that extra kick (let us know how you incorporate these into your recipes as well so we can share the knowledge/love).

Avocados are also a great source of this. Like we needed another reason to add ‘avo’ to everything…

Beef:

We know the barbeque lovers are glad to hear this. But remember guys, everything in moderation. Having beef all-day, every day is not worth the risk of heart disease at the excuse of growing a beard.

Red meat is high in saturated fat which boosts hair growth.

Vitamin A and Beta A Carotene:

Foods rich in these nutrients are not only great for beard growth but for skin tissue repair as well. The beard gang must know by now that healthy skin tissue = better and healthier beard growth.

The skin under your beard goes through a lot with all the itching and food particles. This definitely irritates the skin and in most cases will lead to breakouts or scarring (especially from itching… have we told you how bad itching is? Borrow a leaf from the ladies and tap the hell out of that beard instead).

Foods such as: egg yolks, kale, spinach, sweet potatoes and carrots will repair your skin tissue and allow improved beard growth.

As you eat healthy, remember to exercise and use your beard wash, oil and balm religiously and in no time, you will have that largely coveted beard of your dreams.
